FIRST COURSE

  • Moo Satay Bolan

    (Original a palace food for the royalty, the recipe was adapted from Java cuisine over 100 years ago and became one of the most popular dishes in Thailand.)

    Grilled marinated pork shoulder skewers with exotic spices and coconut milk, served with traditional peanut sauce, grilled bread, and cucumber Ajad.

  • Stuffed Chicken Wings

    (One of the oldest appetizers, hard to find nowadays due to it being time-consuming.)  Stuffed with minced chicken, shrimp, crabmeat, bean thread noodles, black mushrooms, carrot, scallions, and cilantro.  Steamed and fried until crispy on the outside, served with sweet chili sauce.

MAIN COURSE

  • RAMA CHICKEN NOODLES

    Original since King Rama III, chicken cooked in ginger-curry-peanut sauce.  Served with rice vermicelli, water spinach, chili paste, and lime. (rice may be substituted)

  • DRUNKEN BEEF SUPREME

    Grilled beef sirloin stir-fry Kee Mao-style with fresh rice noodles. Asian broccoli, baby corn, carrot, young peppercorns, mixed bell peppers, and sweet basil

  • PLA PAOW THAI HERB

    Grilled whole black sea bass with fresh Thai herb wrapped in banana leaves.  Served with lemongrass-chili- fish sauce, sautéed mixed vegetables, and steamed jasmine rice

CELEBRATION DETAILS

Songkran, means “Festival of Pouring Water”.  Thai people believe that by pouring water during this time…anything bad in our lives will be flushed away, and we will be blessed in the New Year.

In keeping with this tradition, guests at Bangkok Joe’s may perform an ancient Songkran ceremony to renew their spirits.

Songkran festival has evolved into a family gathering day, with youngsters pouring water to older family member to show respect.  Girls help their mothers and grandmothers prepare big pots of noodles for family and friends who visit, since eating long noodles during Songkran is believed to increase chances of a long life and prosperity.

  • Enjoy Traditional Thai special menu designed by Chef/Owner Aulie Bunyarataphan’s to promote longevity and good health. The menu will also feature some items that are rare and never been offered to the American palate before.
  • Pour water over a ceremonial Buddha, a ritual that is believed to flush away anything bad in your life and bring prosperity.
  • Pick your own fortune for the New Year by shaking “Ziem-Zee” a container full of Thai fortune sticks with a chance to win a free or discount on your meal.
  •  Guests will have a chance to win prizes including a free ticket to Thailand or gift certificates through the promotions of Thai restaurant week provided by The Royal Thai Embassy.
